The edges in this set are subtle with very little incut.  Expect a challenging hold, even on vertical. All of the holds offer room for all 4 fingers and more on some of them.

  • Smallest hold measures 4-1/4" wide x 3-1/2" tall x 1-1/2" off the wall
  • Largest hold measures 7-1/4' wide x 3-1/2' tall x 1-5/8" off the wall
  • Texture: Atomik 2.0

Makes a hard route harder
These edges are challenging to get a good grip on which is great for updating good routes. I recommend these if you are really getting the hang of climbing and want to take the difficulty up a level. These are good on vertical walls but would be too difficult for a steep wall.

Do your core workout!
V3/V4 on 15 degree wall. You can get your fingers on it, but need your core to keep you on wall for sure.  Positive on a dihedral ledge. Surprisingly positive when approached from underneath on a horizontal surface. Nice smooth texture.

Try them as technical steep wall footholds
I am currently using these on my 35 degree wall, mostly as footholds paired with the 5 Medium Golfus Edges (Steep Wall). I am using the largest one as a starting handhold at this angle. On a 35 degree wall, the combination of the Steep and Vertical sets forces precise footwork and solid core tension to hold on.  As steep wall footholds, the texture combined with the Golfus dimples is just grippy enough to hold tension, as long as you stay focused. I might move these onto less steep terrain to try as handholds, but I am having fun with them as technical steep wall feet for now. I highly recommend both this and the Steep Wall sets.

Awesome challenge
I have been setting these on my vertical wall and they present a unique challenge when set right. They remind me of a style you see at the New River Gorge, where the hold fits your fingers but do not give you any edge to get purchase on. You have to couple hand strength with core strength to use them effectively, and I love it. Added bonus, about half the holds in the set at different angles to present different climbing experiences. The arch they are designed on allow for about 40 degrees of rotation to get different styles, from ledge like to a middle/ring finger focused grip to a different style ledge. I have found it pretty easy to make them part of routes ranging from ~V2 - ~ V5. Very versatile. Another set that i wish was a series of sets.

Making thex
Sooo stoked on these. I got them in addition to the steep wall version. They are awesome on my vertical wall, and actually make it fun and, dare I say it... keep it interesting. I climb around a V4 range so they are perfect for a few of my vertical wall projects as well as a final warm up before heading to the steeper sections. You can get a really good variety of climbing in with these. Anyone who’s vertical wall has gotten stale, treat yo self to a set of these bad boys. A++
