We bought this hold for our 1 year old's birthday. When presented with a bunch of pictures of holds he very clearly pointed to this one. We put up a few different pictures and shuffled them and again, he pointed to this one. Having communicated with a baby in such an archaic method we decided he must want this hold. We put it up where he can reach it and now he just sits in our homemade climbing shed and holds onto this hold while watching his sisters climb. From an adult and toddler perspective this is an excellent pincher hold, the yellow pictures make it somewhat hard to tell but the top surface of the hold has nice texture that is great for adding some friction when teaching young'ns how to use a loaf hold. We love it and now I find myself frequently having to remind myself it's our baby's hold, and I can't steal it from him to go set up a route to go down my own rabbit hole.
