I'm using this model to start the rehabilitation of a snowboard accident ankle injury. It's a Grade 2 Ankle Sprain. Partial tearing of the ligaments.
Now that the swelling is going down, and along with a solid RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation) protocol, I am starting the proprioception path to rehabilitating my ankle. My hands are on the desk for support since the ankle is quite weak. Eventually, the strength gained will allow for no hands to support and then with eyes closed.
Right now I am doing exercises where both feet are pointed in the same direction. Forward, 45 degrees to the left and 45 degrees to the right. I'm extending as far as I can with strain but no pain. I'm also extending the device forward and then rotating both clockwise and counterclockwise. After I work on the ankle this hard, I ice it down. I'm using Kit Cold Rush US w/ Ankle Pad for that.
