I really like using these rails as mini-jugs for vertical and slightly overhanging routes. They are really nice for traverses on vertical, their length is great, they are tough slopers on overhangs. Because they vary in shape, they have sweet spots depending on how they are set that you want to hit when you climb on them. Its nice to have a hold like that where you make a big move to grab it, you have a spot you are aiming for, but you still might be able to make the move if you miss slightly by grabbing the rail on a less positive section. It also sets up matching hands easily on the rail.
