The 5 XL Basic styled Sloper Crimps are omnidirectional, meaning there are many grips on every hold.
The grips on the holds are incut rounded crimps, slopers, pinches, and a sweet spot on the slopers.
The sweet spot sloper can be gripped as a thumb catch pinch or a sweet spot on the sloper.
The crimps are in the 3/4" deep range, and the incuts range between 30 and 60 degrees. So, very positive. They stay as a crimp in steep terrain and what I like about them the most is that the crimp curves around the hold. It's super easy to rotate when setting it to get a comfortable hand grip for flowy moves.
The slopers feel like V2 on a vertical wall. The sweet spot is a part of the sloper, so you have to intentionally not dig into it if you want the pure sloper section. The sloper width is four to five fingers wide.
Where these holds shine is in super steep terrain like 45-degrees overhanging. If you look at the thumbnail photos for this product, you'll see some photos on Atomik's 45-degree wall. I set a body-tension V5 with them. You could set hard V8+ moves with these, however, if you are setting them like a ladder with easy-to-reach moves, expect easy V5 as a start on a 45-degree wall.
