About Us
First off, welcome to Atomik! My name is Kenny Matys and I own and run things around here. My wife Michelle and I started Atomik in 2002 to follow our passion for crafting quality climbing holds and to create jobs in our local community. We absolutely love designing great climbing holds we also love the great state of Utah. Michelle and I felt that setting up shop here would be a great way to pursue our passion and to do something good for our community. After all is said and done, we want Utah to be a better place because of us.
Since starting in 2002, we've grown immensely and are now a large production organization, but we've been fortunate enough to make the right choices along the way, creating great products and not compromising our top-notch customer service. Our growth has put me in the office more, but that doesn't mean I don't get out frequently either to the crag or into the production facility to stay in touch with what is best for you, the customer. We love to grow but not at the expense of our customer service, which is our number one priority. If you have a question, comment or concern, you can call or email me anytime.
On any given day, you can find me answering the phone, reviewing and responding to email, designing holds or saying that we will get it on the truck for you today kind of thing, but I don’t do it alone. I get a ton of help from a solid cast of local climbers here in Provo, Utah.
Our Head Designer, Andy Knight is continually raising the bar when it comes to designing great holds. He continually proves himself worthy with his new ideas and his out of the box thinking. Our Adjustable Crack and Pull Up Bombs are just two of our newer products.
Our Master Commander is Collin Wogenstahl. When I say we'll get it out, it's Collin that makes it happen with his crew. He and his team are a vital part of the Atomik machine.

On the topic of climbing holds, we take pride in the quality of our holds. We use only high quality, industry standard poly-urethane, so that each hold feels like clean desert sandstone under your fingers. Our washers are top-quality grade 8 steel—there is nothing better on the market at keeping your holds where you put them. We replace our molds sooner rather than later so that our texture and quality is always consistent. Great quality holds is what we are about!
Oh, have you noticed our great prices? We’re kind of about that, too. Great prices have nothing to do with a compromise of quality, but rather, they are a result of a focus on quality from the design process all the way through to production. We are not at the trade shows and we rarely advertise in magazines. Further, we manufacture everything here so there is no middle man and we use paperless and waterless systems, all in an effort to keep our costs—and therefore prices—low. Our goal is to get you the holds you want, they way you want as fast as we can, the 'Old School' way, by simply putting in a hard day’s work. We want the world of climbing to continue to grow and affordable climbing holds are a part of that.
